My previous experience spans the education, care and service industries, where I’ve developed valuable skills in supporting people and building relationships.
The focus of my role is to help local people build their skills, confidence and connections, and access opportunities that matter to them. This includes connecting residents with training, volunteering, skills sharing, funding and pathways into work.
I’m really looking forward to meeting residents, local groups, organisations and businesses, learning more about what matters to you, and working together to help people and the wider community thrive.”
Sheralee’s role is community based, and she will be out in the community, building relationships with residents, community groups, organisations and businesses. Connecting people with opportunities for training, volunteering, skills sharing, funding and pathways into work. Supporting residents to access the resources and connections they need to achieve the things that matter to them and to strengthen the wider community.
The aim is to co-create and implement a programme to provide training, volunteering and other skills-based opportunities for residents, in partnership with community groups, local organisations in Knowle West, and training providers. Sheralee wants to hear from you, if you are resident, organisation or business locally. Some of the areas she will be focusing on might include: Fundraising, Small group governance, Professional boundaries, Anti-oppressive practice or Community development. What is most important is community voice. What does the community want and need.
