Knowle West Alliance has a new director, Ruth Clinch. Ruth joined KWA in April. She has been busy getting to grips with how the Alliance works.
“Hi, I’m Ruth and I’m really excited to join Knowle West Alliance!
My background is in Mental Health, Education, and Community Development in the UK, Fiji, and Tanzania. I have lived and worked in the local area for 10 years.
I love gardening and growing food (not always successfully!), going to gigs, club nights and festivals, swimming (indoors and out), and have recently been learning to DJ. I’m passionate about nature, so enjoy exploring local green spaces and going bird watching to.
My work has always had a specific focus on fostering equity and building partnership with people and organisations to create positive change, and much of my work has been with children, young people, and families.
It has been great getting to know so many dedicated local people and community workers so far, and I can’t wait to continue getting to know more. I feel really fortunate to be a part of Knowle West and am looking forward to working with residents, partners, and local groups to continue supporting positive action in the neighbourhood.”
