Springfield Community Allotment

In 2022, Knowle West Alliance were successful in its bid to Bristol City Council for the community allotment site at Springfield, led by Re:Work. Our aim was to retain this beautiful space for community use.

Springfield’s mission: We are a group of residents, groups and organisations working together to:

1. Grow Food for Local People:

We prioritise volunteers and user groups being able to eat, share and buy food we grow

We sell surplice locally at affordable prices

2. Learn together:

How to grow food, how to collaborate, how to organise and connect

3. Share responsibilities and actions:

Residents, groups and organisations are equal partners, sharing and caring for this space together (with ReWork as lead partner)

4. Access:

We want residents to have opportunities to grow food, learn skills and be in nature.

We believe that that this site, along with other community green spaces, is key to supporting health and wellbeing in Knowle and Filwood.  Springfield Community Allotment is focussed on growing food, health, wellbeing, skills development and community connections.  We are working towards many people connecting here, through volunteering, activities and events.

Good food for all is not a radical concept.
