Climate Action

Knowle West’s own Community Climate Action Plan

How can we make Knowle West a better place to live and work, while taking care of the planet?  We have created a community climate action plan with the people in Knowle West.

Knowle West Alliance and Knowle West Media Centre are part of a pioneering project which supports community organisations across Bristol to develop community Climate action plans within their communities. This plan demonstrates the important role which communities have in achieving citywide climate and nature goals.

Through this plan we highlight all the climate action, which is already happening in our neighbourhood, like community gardens, food and growing projects, nature conservation, wellbeing and walking groups, tree planting action, upgrading homes and buildings to be more energy efficient, young people taking action for climate, and many more.

The plan help to bring together into one strategy all the great work people are already doing and identify priorities to improve resident’s lives and our environment, and help Bristol become a carbon neutral city. Tackling the climate and ecological crisis shouldn’t worsen the challenges we already face, we believe it should and can improve people’s quality of life too.

This Bristol-wide project is coordinated by Bristol Green Capital Partnership, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, and supported by Bristol City Council and the Centre for Sustainable Energy.
