New funding for our Small Grants for food related projects

Since 2019, our Small Grants programme has gone from strength to strength!  It’s hard to believe that in that time we’ve awarded over 80 Small Grants to nearly 60 individuals, groups and organisations based in Knowle West to support local community projects.

We have now received a new pot of funding related to food projects.  This forms part of the work of the Knowle West food group made up of local people and led by Square Food Foundation and Redcatch Community Garden.  We are looking forward to receiving applications from any local individuals, groups or organisations who have an idea for a healthy food project or a project related to food security.  Perhaps you want to run some cooking workshops, support people with budgeting, organise a community meal or help people to grow their own food – we can’t wait to hear your ideas!

All projects awarded funding from this pot of money will need to happen between now and October this year.  There’s up to £250 available and it’s super easy to apply – just go to the Small Grants page on our website, read the information and download our simple one page application form.  If you’re not great doing things online, want to chat through your project idea or just need a hand with the form, you can ring me (the KWA Community Facilitator) on 07942 677131 to arrange a meet-up.

We also have other pots of money available for ‘greener place’, men’s wellbeing and other sorts of community projects if your idea isn’t to do with food or food security.

So go on, make your idea to benefit the community of Knowle West a reality and apply for one of our Small Grants today!
