Corona Virus / Knowle West – helping each other

We know that many of you will be concerned about Coronavirus and COVID-19 and the potential impact the virus will have on our community and everyday life.

With the situation changing rapidly the best place to get up to the minute advice is the NHS webpages.

Those of us fit and well could think about ways we can support our neighbours who are either ill, worried or lonely. Here is a useful template letter which can be used as a tool to connect with neighbours to offer your help and share health advice. There are some notes on there about how to offer help whilst keeping yourselves and others as safe as possible.

These can be printed at home or you can or pop into any of the Alliance Founder Organisations who will have some copies available to pick up for as long as they remain open to the public:

  • The Park
  • Knowle West Health Park
  • Re:Work
  • Knowle West Media Centre
  • Filwood Community Centre – TBC

Within the spirit of neighbourliness, please also be mindful of the fact that you would be giving your phone number out to people you may not know.

Please also make sure you respect and protect the privacy of anyone you help – especially people who might be vulnerable, such as those who live alone or older people. For example, please don’t share anyone’s person details (such as their name, address or the things they need help with) with others or post it on social media. Even though many people may want to help, there may be others who could take advantage of knowing this information.

The Knowle West Alliance will continue to work with local organisations to identify ways we can safely support one another as a community.  All ideas and suggestions welcome
