Springfield Community Allotment

Springfield Community Allotment is a resident led and community accessible space off Andover Road in Knowle West. We Are More hold the lease for the space and have done since the end of 2024.

History

In 2022, Knowle West Alliance was successful in its bid to Bristol City Council for the community allotment site at Springfield, led by re:Work. Our aim was to retain a beautiful space for community use.

At the end of 2024 re:Work ceased trading. The lease was transferred from re:Work to We Are More a local resident led organisation, who have been meeting and growing at Springfield regularly. A powerful demonstrator of increased community-led action in line with the Knowle West Alliance approach to building community power from the grassroots up. Springfield Community Allotment is no longer a partnership project with Knowle West Alliance. It is a resident led community space and supporter of KWA.

Jasmine Tippett local resident and chair of We Are More:
“We are More are delighted that we will continue our work growing and cooking fresh produce at Springfield Community Allotment and opening our doors widely for our community to provide a resource that many can enjoy”
